A Professional SLR Camera or a HD Video Camera?
I am looking into the Cannon EOS Rebel XTi (not sure around the name) Camera but it does not have any video copy for those moments which requires it. Is there a large quality SLR Camera which library some video?
The Sony Hard Drive High Def Cameras are one of my choices because I am quite up to date with them. But, they dictation unto a new format for HD which almost no video editing software can expurgate it still. I think its AVCHD.
So any recommendation?
Answers: Digital SLRs generally do not account video, because of their design. The mirror which bounces the image into the pentaprism is, with ease, in the style of the CMOS or CCD, so the image is merely captured when the mirror is up (that is, when the shutter is open).
Most stills cameras that shoot video shoot pretty lousy video, and, in the same way, most video cameras that capture stills do so as an afterthought. The two features aren't really compatible -- but.

Since you asked the grill as you did, you may want to take a class within photography before you spend nearly $1000 on a digital camera. The design of DSLR's (based upon 35mm SLR camera chassis) precludes using it as a video camera.
No DSLR in actual fact can capture video. Maybe surrounded by some years...
With a HD camcorder, you can capture pictures, but they will be smaller quantity good than a compact digital camera (so far far away from a dslr!)...
You are wrong around video editing: last journal of most video editing software can handle AVCHD! Only Adobe (premiere) doesn't...
Why don't you seize a non-slr camera that handles HD ?
Try for example Canon TX1: a suitable camera with HD (720p) capability!
Personally, I prefer a still camera, as prints don't require anything special to view them--you lately show the prints.
Video--you need something to play final on, and it's more work to edit/convert the video.
Personally, I would recommend the Canon HV-20 if you want a high-def video camera. Much better quality than the Sony and editable, as the format is HDV.
But you enjoy to decide whether or not you want video or stills. We can't produce that choice for you, as it will depend on your needs.
No SLR will transcript video (although the D3 will do live view output surrounded by high def!).
