Nikon D40 - when i put my camera on continuous mode, it still lone take 1 picture?

THIS MORNIGN IT WORKED - I WOULD SNAP ONE PIC AND THEN HOLD DOWN THE SHUTTER THE CAMERA WOULD CONTINUE TO SNAP SHOTS UNTIL I LET OFF THE BUTTON - NOW IT WONT WORK AND I STILL HAVE IT ON CONTINUOUS - WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Answers:    Are you trying to use the flash? Continuous shooting does not work if you have teh flash up, no business where you enjoy the dial set or how long you hold the shutter button down. This can be a problem in the fully "AUTO" mode if you are surrounded by an area dimness enough to require flash, since you will not be capable of turn it off. Switch to "P" mode and disappear the flash down.

If you are using autofocus, the camera will try to focus between shots, so if you have a difficult-to-focus subject, swtich to encyclopaedia focus.
You may have used up adjectives your memory. Clear your memory card and try again.
