Best Camera for just about 350?

Well, stretching the "just about 350" I'd go for
Compact: Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera
DSLR: Pentax K110D 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera + 18-55mm lens.
Actually, the DSLR go for less than the G9. $400 vs. $430 or so.
Check out the Canon S5is. Is give you decent zoom and although it is a point and shoot, it is the closest article to an SLR without going to SLR's. That camera be also made to be used as a camcorder too. You can record video and snap still shots at like time. It is decent competence video, just label sure you get a illustrious speed memory card (Ultra II or Extreme III). Great stabilization system, which will take out any possible blurs from shaking while taking the picture. Great camera. Also, camera manufacturer begin to come out next to new models areound Feb-March so the price may drop soon. I believe its $299 right in a minute at places like Best Buy. Awesome camera though! You could also consider the Sony H9, which have a rechargeable battery next to it, larger screen, and complex zoom.
