Compact Flash card - 2mb or 4mb? for Canon A95?

Recently got a 2mb card instead of my 512 card and it is great for the extra storage. Now I entail another card and wondered if my camera could "handle" a 4mb card. Fast speed between pictures is my objective as powerfully as storage.

Would not have gotten the 4mb but nearby was a Dutch auction that made it comparable.

Would the 4mb be any faster? How would I know?

Camera is a Canon A95 - 2.5 years old. I've read the user almanac but it has no information. They are both SanDisk Ultra II cards. Thank you!

Answers:    I go to the Canon website http://www.usa.canon.com for you and looked. If I'm reading the answer properly, the A95 will support a 4 GB card, if the card is formatted in the FAT32 standard. The 4 GB card should be one and the same speed as the 2 GB card in-camera; any speed difference would involve the use of an external camera card reader connected to a PC.

Here's the knowledge end answer:

Issue: What is the largest capacity memory card that can be used contained by my camera?
--------------------------------------...
Solution: The maximum memory card capacity is 2048 GB

The maximum card dimensions for the Compact Flash Card standard is 2048 GB. You camera model currently supports FAT32 allowing for larger than 2GB capacities to be used.
Do you really requirement another CF card? Each 2GB will allow almost 700 images (Superfine/Large).
You already enjoy a 2GB and a 512MB card (that's around 850 images). Adding a 4GB card will allow a total of over 2200 images. Do you really necessitate to store THAT many?

As far as speed go, the Ultra II is a super fast card, more than hurried enough for the dated A95. Anything faster would probably be a waste of time.

Don't forget to format the cards previously first use and everytime AFTER you have uploaded adjectives images to your computer and you next wish to delete adjectives files from the card. Doing this will prevent card errors.

good luck...
Thats funny. lol
I have asked myself the same press.
My Fuji could only run 1GB
So I call Fuji & they said..........
Its guide was printed within 2006 before 2GB xD cards be invented.
Different memory cards from diff companies have diff speeds they can be written to.
If the memory card is faster than your cameras write speed you'll be fine.
I use the extreme 3 when using compact flash beside my fancier camera.
You'll prob want a spare camera batt so you can actually crawl a huge memory card lol.
I have two 4GB cards, but the price break and practicality make multiples of 2GB ( I have ten of them) cards a better investment for me. I sometimes shoot four different assignments a year, so using a card or two for each make more sense for managing the images of respectively shoot.

IF you can find a 4GB card for under $50 and if your A95 can use cards of that size, jump a head and buy one. Your shooting style will determine whether using multiple 2GB cards or a few 4GB cards are best for you.
