How do I formulate the Canon 430EX Flash wireless?

I have a canon anarchist xt and a 430ex flash. I want the flash to fire, wirelessly, when I press the shutter button on my camera. In other words - the flash is separate from the camera, alone, by itself, on tripod, free of cables, operating solitary on the 4 AA batteries inside of it.

Someone someplace be yelling almost pocketwizards - i looked at them funny. What is that, how do they work, is it even related to this topic --- what do I need guys?

Thanks contained by advance.

Answers:    The canon 430EX can ONLY deed like a Slave flash. Which money you need a flash resembling the 580EX, 580EX II or 550EX to act approaching a master or something like the ST-E2 IR transmitter.

Now the 580EX/EXII and 550EX can conduct yourself both like master and a slave. I own two 550EX so I set one to master and the other to slave and they work very ably.

Your cheapest option to fire the 430EX lacking wires is to look for a used ST-E2 (retails for around $200 new) or the better option would be to buy a used 550EX (can be have for about $200-250 used). With an ST-E2 on your camera you hold a light immensity solution with the 430EX acting sour camera in a wireless mode. The 550EX will append its own weight to your camera BUT you will immediately have two sources of muted which can vary for some fantastic results.

You can also use PW as someone suggested but its not going to be cheap.

The CHEAPEST solution is certainly wired and in abundant ways it works pretty well. Use a Hama PC to Hotshoe adapter (if your XT does not enjoy PC socket) and Hama Hotshoe to PC adapter (on your flash) and a 15 ft of cable (male to female PC cable). Shouldn't cost you more than close to $33 to $50 for everything.

It will be cheap and light but a touch cumbersome since you have to contend beside wires but it will work. For more information I suggest checking out POTN Flash photography section.
So I hold been wondering for a while how to do this totally thing and I run across this item http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/10... It seems resembling just the piece except for the one review say that it doesnt work beside Canon - sigh -.

Sorry I couldn't be of any better help.

http://www.flickr.com/groups/strobist/ check out these guys. They live for this stuff.

Edit---
The B&H hot shoe slave would probably work beside a flash set to manual, I dont believe its possible with only the on camera flash, should work just fine next to an older style flash that doesnt pre-flash to set whitebalance and find exposure approaching the newer digital flashes do.
