Help Needed! Anyone know how to use the optical zoom on the fujifilm s700 (s5700)?
Answers: The button is most plausible labeled "W" (wide) & "T" (tight), and is probably located at the upper right on the back of the camera.
EDIT: Nope. The lenses move internally. You won't see a lens extend out the front. Try looking through the viewfinder (or looking at the LCD on the back) while manipulate the Wide and Tight button...the image should zoom contained by and out. In addition, if you've get your settings correct, a graphic lump should appear in the upper left-hand corner of the viewfinder/LCD blind, and there should be a small square that slides along that block showing how much of the "zoom" you're using.
IF your camera is already set up so the digital zoom is "active", that bar will be divided into two segment. The first part of the lump (the left side) is showing the optical zoom. Then nearby will be a line, and later the right side of the bar. As you zoom contained by, the block will slide across the first part of the slab until it reaches the string, then it will stop. That will be where on earth your optical zoom ends. From that point on, any "zoom" will be the product of the digital zoom - and your pictures will end up granular looking.
It is the S5700.
The zoom button should be either fundamental the shuttle button or near your thumb.
