Canon Rebel XTI or a Canon 20D??

Should I get a Canon Rebel TXI or a used Canon 20D body? Both of the body are going for alike price... around $550

Answers:    A couple of points no one have mentioned yet:

- The Canon 20D shoots at 5 frames per second compared to the XTI which does 3. The 20D will be for a moment better for sports/action photography.

- The Canon XTI has a bigger blind 2.5" compared to the lower size and resolution of the 20D at 1.8". Viewing the menu and checking focus is easier on an XTI.

- The XTI is much smaller and lighter than the 20D. You really would have to hold one to realize how tiny it is. I found it fairly cramped, though others with smaller hand will likely get the impression right at home with it.

- The XTI is missing the top LCD eyeshade that most full sized DSLR's have. It take some getting used to using the rear LCD for everything if you hold always used the traditional top LCD to change/view shooting modes, metering, etc.

Image point will be really close between these two. The XTI will have a slight farthest point due mostly to its new processor. The 20D is a bit more solid of a camera, larger within size, and shoots at a faster rate. If the small size of the XTI doesn't bother you and you don't need the extra speed and durability of the 20D consequently go for the XTI. It is a large amount and sure to deliver excellent results, plus as others have noted you will obtain a brand new camera next to warranty.

Hope this helps.
