Camera minister to?
Answers: Look at the bottom of the camera. There's small recessed button that releases the camera picture takeup reel. It should stay down as you flip over the rewind lever and rewind the picture back into the cassette.
When you subsequent load a roll of 35mm picture, it will pop back up.
By the route, the SRT101 (I loved that camera when I had one) is a fully powered SLR that will work perfectly (except for metering, of course) lacking a battery.
I hope this is long-suffering.
If you are looking at the camera from the front (into the lens) that little "switch" to the left of the lens is a Mirror Lock Up. If its busy you won't be able to see through the lens. The Mirror Lock Up function be designed for use with greatly slow shutter speeds. It was thought that the doings of the mirror swinging up, as the shutter was released, could inflict slight vibrations from hitting its "bumpers". These slight vibrations could cause blurred results. This piece was dropped on following models of the SRT-101 series and on all subsequent SRT-200, 201 & 202 cameras.
George be 100% with his answer give or take a few rewinding the film.
IMO you should jump to ebay and buy the Owner's manual for your camera.
As be said there's a small button on bottom of camera. You may have to hold it down while turning knob to rewind motion picture. PS your battery could awfully well be comatose but has nought to do with rewinding show.
Here is a link for the owners brochure for the SRT101. It's a PDF (Adobe file) and just over 7mb so a dialup nouns would take a few minutes.
