The problem might be in your computer (you might not be running the current drivers for your usb or the OS might not be updated to certify a new usb camera (Vista, XP and Mac OS X should adjectives register the camera automatically and search for current drivers) or it might be the usb cable is defective (or even the camera)
Try a different USB cable, or see if the camera came near an installation CD to install it.
manufacture sure you have run the software for it on your comp or it will never detect it
