Ok, i am shopping around for a nikon digital SLR camera and i am looking at the D40x.?

should i get the utensils with the 18-55mm lens contained by it, or should i buy the body, and then spend rather extra money on a seperate lens? also, if you have any other suggestions for digital SLRs or websites to shop at, that would be amazing.

Answers:    I just this minute purchased the Nikon D40x. I also have a Canon Rebel 35mm SLR. I chose the Nikon because it seem to be a better value and I like the feel. I purchased it at Ritz Camera (aka Wolf Camera). They own a deal for $799. You win the camera body, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens and a Nikon camera bag. They also throw within a bunch of software, free prints, etc. At the time, there be offering a free HP or Canon printer (via rebates). As for the camera, I am pleased with the photos I own taken and plan to experiment a bit with it surrounded by the near adjectives. Hope this helps.
Go for it. You will not regret it. At this time the D40x give you the most "bang for the buck"

The "kit" lens is a appropriate one and will get you started.

If you want to procure a little more adaptable lens, get the 18-200mm VR or you can skulk and buy the 55-200mm later.
i'm thinking the canon 400d is a gd one , but i know the nikon is too. b4 buying, check out cost of lens. i wud prefer a 55-200mm lens. much more adjectives.
