Stores to buy cameras...Nikon D70?
Answers: try yahoo shopping
First, find the Yellow Pages.
Second, look for camera stores - not stores that market 10,001 things and cameras.
Third, call the ones closest to you and kind sure they carry what you want.
Fourth, progress there. Let the trained salesperson answer adjectives your questions and explain the features and benefits of the different models. Handle the different cameras on your register and see which one feels the best to you.
Fifth, BUY the camera from that store. Now you'll hold access to someone who can answer questions, facilitate solve problems, and offer intelligent proposal. They might even offer a couple of hours of instruction on using the camera. It won't hurt to ask them if they do that. Try getting that horizontal of service from Wal-Mart or the internet. Try asking a question of, or explaining a problem to, some CSR within India or Pakistan or Taiwan. Good luck with that.
Sixth, READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual. It wasn't packed out as filler, it was included so you can cram to use your camera.
Seventh, read and study the Manual again. Learn to use every feature it have. Practice using them until you are as comfortable with your camera as you are beside a knife and fork.
Eighth, buy your bits and pieces from the camera store where you bought your camera. One article you should buy at the time of purchase is a Skylight or HAZE/UV filter. Keep it on your lens at all times to protect the front component. Filters are cheaper to replace than lenses. One scratch or bitter fingerprint or smudge and your lens becomes a paperweight.
Ninth, seize a nice wide, confortable camera strap if adjectives that comes with your camera is for a moment skinny one. Your camera should be hanging around your nouns when it isn't in your camera daypack or on a tripod. In 36 years I've yet to drop a camera.
Tenth, consider buying one of the protective covers offered by cameraarmor.com or bonicadive.com. Check their sites and desire which one will offer the most protection from dust, pollution, hose down and the occasional bump or scrape.
Eleventh, transport lots of photos. Then take some more. Enjoy this mesmerizing frustrating hobby.
Good luck.
