New Athlon X2 4200 processor does not work next to any currently manufactured cameras?

I have an Olympus Camedia C series digital camera, which interfaced fine near my old processor.
Recently I have the motherboard upgraded with a current Athlon X2 4200 processor.
Now the computer does not recognize the camera as a divergent hardware item.
I called Olympus customer support and could not believe my ears! They told me that the 4200 processor won't interface next to any Olympus (or any other brand of) digital camera because the camera manufacturer's have not made any cameras that "budge with" the Athlon 4200 X2 processor technology, and that it would be 1 to 2 years before the camera manufacturer came out beside new cameras that would interface beside this new processor.
It seem surreal to me that this could be true.
Can anyone out there verify it? Or dispute it next to good idea & recommendation?

Answers:    Most promising, it's just an issue next to the Olympus *drivers* not working near the new motherboard/CPU. Olympus see no need to upgrade their own drivers, so they blame the CPU. How stupid is that?

Instead, return with yourself a USB 2.0 card reader and avoid the issue altogether. Just slip the memory card into the reader. All the device drivers are already in Windows, so it shouldn't be an issue at adjectives. Your computer will then see the imagery via the reader, and you won't need to dribble away the camera's battery power.
Your processor will own NOTHING to do with your digital camera. It will adjectives be with the Operating System (Windows XP or Vista). Chances are near your new processor and motherboard your drivers aren't going to be corrent. It probably have something to do with your USB drivers.

I am not claiming that it is out of the question, but I have over 15 years of computer experience and a computer science scope and I have never ever hear anything like this. I can't believe Olympus wouldn't correct you.

I'd be inclined to bet a significant amount of money that it can't be the processor! A Digital Camera interface is going to work at Operating System level... not hardware rank!

Then again I could be wrong!
i agree. if you cant read your camera thru the cable..try putting the mem card in a reader.
as you would expect we are only audible range what you said you heard. i do not beleive oly told you that.
