Camera suggestion - Fujifilm FinePix S700?
My only worries is the size of the S700, it appears to be a bit bulky. And considering the fact that I would probably be taking it around seriously and taking a lot of pictures. I'll be travelling to Europe this December as capably, and I hope to bring along the camera through out my trip. Is it actually the wonderful camera for me?
I fine with the lower shutter speed on the S700 by the process.
Or are there any other cameras you would recommend? The price have to be below $300 though.
Answers: Have you seen the camera near your own eyes? It looks pretty small to me (well not the size of a compact camera but it is still convenient to carry it around).
beside dimension of 106 x 76 x 81 mm (4.2 x 3 x 3.2 in) with more or less 400g of weight, I could filch this camera everywhere without premonition any burden.
The SLR-like operation is a plus - because that means smaller quantity shutter lag (I hold no confirmation on this) and while the size are bigger than compact, you get a plus by getting a 10x optical zoom - something none of those compact can do.
For the price close to this, I don't think I could ask more than this Fuji - but if I be you I'd probably chip in a few more and achieve an Canon Powershot S5 IS instead but that's just me.

Well I this morning I was taking photos beside my Sony which is 12X optical and my friend with his Fuji S700. For a camera that have 10X optical zoom, I don't find his camera very bulky at adjectives. You are getting plenty of zoom. There are regular size compact cameras out there near 4X optical zoom. So really that's up to you. If you think the Fuji S700 too big choose something else. Maybe Canon PowerShot A630. According to Website dpreview.com Norman Camera have it for $200+shipping. Possibly Canon A640?
