HELP quicktime converter?

I have to repress video clips from a kodak camera for a school project. Windows Movie Maker will not read QuickTime format, which is how the video are. How do I convert the videos free, efficiently, safely? What should I do? contained by a non-sketchy way that won't mess up my computer?
Thank You..

Answers:    download prompt time player or player pro
If installing the QuickTime player doesn't install the necessary codecs, you can use ffmpeg to convert between several different video formats.

It's hard to find, but you can download it at:

If you are bedazzled by the archive formats on the above sites, you can also procure an older text of ffmpeg by installing Riva's flash encoder and copying ffmpeg to a directory in your go through path.

ffmpeg is a command column program. If you're not computer and video format savvy, this could be a can of worms to get working as it will filch time to figure out the command file switches. If the command line stuff isn't your pack of tea, you can try various GUI wrappers for ffmpeg. Perhaps:

Be sure to do a virus check on any of these downloads.
