Sony DCS W-80 Digital Camera freestyle Problem?

To my surprise Sony dealer surrounded by India has refuse to help and advise me to purchase a new freestyle which is costing more than 30 % of the camera cost.
Also the Sony website has decline to help advise me to contact the Sony's Saudi website which does not exist and I have no resources to send this camera to convey to saudi arabia for a battery replacement.
I never expected such a reputed company similar to Sony to leave its cusotmers surrounded by trouble.
My Camera Serial Number : 2709904
Battery type is NP BG1
Can SONY or any kind human being help me to solve this problem.

Answers: Another possibility is that the product is a clone... some of the asian knockoffs look better in the box than they work... It could even be that the camera is authentic... the OEM could over produce and sell them out the posterior door with a knockoff freestyle.
The reason I suggest i.e. that some Sony batteries require a special circuitry that identify them as the OEM battery. They own received some controversy over this... but there are a few after flea market manufacturers that sort properly functioning batteries... typically they have OEM contracts, explicitly how they are able to produce a feature battery lacking the Sony brand on it.
The upstart battery brand is really right, but I don't know if you can get them within India... you could check it out. Their website has some interesting info on how the freestyle industry works.
It is too bad that this happen to you, although we hear of this happening normally when "name brand" products are purchased outside the US, Europe, Japan or India.
I don't know why the warranty are not honored, but it does happen that service is refuse to those who did not buy the product in the country they live contained by.
I take it you hold attempted to get a brand new NP BG1 battery near no luck.
