Canon Powershot Users, can you back me agree on on a card for my husbands tentative camera?
Answers: 4GB is dependable I think. It's what I use. With the powershot I bet you could catch thousands of pictures out of it, even at the highest settings. So even if he's gone for a unharmed month, he'd have to help yourself to over 100 pictures a day to run out of space. If you can afford the 4GB do it. And sandisk have the fastest read/write speed of all the memory cards too.
capably hunny you already have the size which is 4GB what you want to know is the number of pics or video it may hold well thats dependent on the "resolution"(another technocratu mumbo jumbo for you maybe), one own set on their camera setting but a 4GB memory card is more than enough for the trip not unless your making a documentary or something consequently I suggest bring another 1 or 2 with you.
How long is the trip?
How several megapixels is his Powershot?
How many pictures does he usually give somebody a lift when traveling?
These are all crucial questions.
For comparison, I only just went on a two week trip to China beside my Nikon D70, a 6 megapixel camera. I brought along six 2 gb cards, and ended up next to nearly 5,000 photos. (Yes, I'm still sorting them!)
My brother, with a 10 megapixel Sony, took, in the region of 4,000 photos. He filled up several 2 and 4 mp cards.
My mother-in-law, on duplicate trip, took 6 to 10 pictures.
It's like asking how much gas you necessitate for your trip. It depends on the car, the driving traditions of the driver, and where you're going.
The 4GB is a great belief! I have an UltraII 2GB, and it holds like mad. It depends on what resolution your hubby will be storing the pics though. They're cheap now-a-days, so 2 cards wouldn't hurt, just as a back-up.
I hold 4 canons.
A one gb card holds 300+ pictures at 7.0mp
multiply that by 4.
