I use a canon 350d....?

what is best setting to have camera on to draw from the streaming effect on car headlights but subject contained by focus...?


Answers:    put your camera on a tripod select a longish shutter speed say 10 second @iso 400 this will give you ample apeture to work with.

immediately set the flash to second curtain sync THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT .this means the flash will fire as the shutter is going on for to close ,and will put the headlight streaks in the right passageway so the car doesn't look approaching it's going backwards
Do you have a bulb setting ?

Manual setting possibly needed ?

What you need is a long exposure for just about thirty seconds to grasp an effect that you require

and then adjust to your requirements
