Xbox LIVE- IP address is failing..?
I recently get an Xbox 360. Not even 2 weeks ago. Everything went fine. I be playing it one night, go to bed, got put money on up and tried it again. When I tried getting online, It wouldnt let me. I go to the 'Test Connection (Xbox LIVE)' and it had told me that the IP Address erstwhile.
The settings for it are on Automatic (Default I guess). I know my IP Address but not my other info. But I was told you didnt have need of to know it.
I was also looking up on the computer that you should 'power cycle' your modem. Which I simply now did (about 6minutes ago).
Any other accepted wisdom? Because the test keep failing...!
And one last item......What is:
'Returning the Xbox to the orginal factory settings'
is that the Xbox intial setup? I was also told to try it...

Answers: ably, since you were competent to get it to work at one point and presently it doesn't....if you have a router, try turning it rotten and back on. When you use a router, the router is what assigns the IP address to each port
you may hold to actually hold the reset button on your modem for 20-30 second since power cycle didn't work
resey your modem(thats if your ethernet is hooked up to it) Also, yes, 'Returning the Xbox to the orginal factory settings' is deleting everthing bad the XBOX that wasn't there when brought the system. HOPE THIS HELPS!
