My Xbox Live wont work!?

Well when i hook my Xbox up to my ethernet jack in the hindmost of my modem and i start my xbox, when i do a network check it say my IP address wont work.. and i don't know why..

i have looked on the xbox site and go to their troubleshooting page etc. but it doesnt seem approaching my problem is any of those.

can someone help me?


Answers:    capably my modem is kinda weird too

it have to be connected to the computer first, thats when it picks up an internet signal.

and then i disconnect my modem from the computer and plug contained by my x box cable

if i do the x box cable first, it wont connect to the internet

so try doing that
