How do i exchange the eyeshade resolution on a Sharp Aquos LC37D43U to work next to xbox 360?

I cant seem to find where on earth on the television or on the xbox 360 the correct place where on earth i can change the resolution. The xbox is currently playing on 480p (i saw that number flash on the blind once), but the tv supports 720p/1080i. How do i change the resolution so i can capture the games in glorious definition? As a point of reference, i do not enjoy the hdmi connector (not supported by my xbox 360, and all the component cable are connected correctly). I am also using the xbox 360 as my dvd player, so i'm guessing the resolution will improve the competence of those as well.

Also, my standard analog cable (no digital or HD box) is producing a poor picture on the TV. Is this due to the resolution or merely due to the poor signal? Can anything be done to make it clearer (besides the marked of buying a digital or HD box)?

Thanks for your help.

Answers:    First of adjectives you do not have to alteration anything on your TV. You have to do it from your Xbox 360 Dashboard. First, progress to the last "blade" which is regarded as, System. From there, turn to Console Settings. Then go to Display, and from here just revise the resolution to 1080i. Remeber that you have to move the switch on your Component cable from TV to HDTV.
As for the poor picture trait, if you dont have Cable or Satellite, next the problem is due to poor signal. If you do have cable or satellite afterwards i suggest checking the resolution settings from your TV or just convalescing analog cables (I used to own the same problem so I bought analog cable of better quality). Well I hope this helps.
Go to the System Blade and select Console Settings:

Display

Change your display output settings from this blind. Display settings include screen resolution and eyeshade dimension (or aspect ratio, either standard or widescreen).

For high-definition viewing you'll entail a high-definition TV or monitor, as well as the Xbox 360 HDMI Cable, the Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable, or the Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable. For more information, see Connect to TV or HDTV.

* HDTV Settings: Choose between 480p, 720p, 1080i, or 1080p output resolution, depending on the home-grown resolution of your TV or monitor. The default setting is 480p (enhanced definition, or EDTV).

In some cases you can select an "Optimal Resolution" button, which appears with the sole purpose when Xbox supports the native resolution of the TV or monitor and automatically applies the best setting.

If you are using VGA or DVI, you must choose from among the following output resolutions: 640 x 480, 848 x 480, 1204 x 720, 1280 x 720, 1280 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1360 x 768, and 1920 x 1080.
