Updating disallowed Xbox 360...?
Please enlighten me there is some relatively simple process of updating it without have to take the HDD apart and connect it to a computer. And in recent times to be clear I'm not really talking in the region of dashboard updates, I was refering more to hobby updates. Thanks.

This is pretty amusing, but sadly for you what you consternation is true. You cannot connect to Xbox Live therefore you cannot seize updates on your Xbox 360.
