Xbox 360 is widely prearranged for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated effortlessly. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop next to no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melt, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.
Besides all of this, I've see disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it be a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they be paid everything worse - original system is good), etc.

The funniest thing, that right presently there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.
On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony properly lets you do it. There is no such entry in 360.
PS3 HDD can be replaced slickly with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used contained by laptops). 120 GB will cost you around 120$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where on earth 20GB will cost you 100$.
Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least possible, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price very soon. Soon there is going to be cheaper 40GB edition of PS3.
I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to communicate about it. Leave it for kindergarten and dispassionate games.
the 360 becaus all the ps3s fitting games r coming out in winter 2008 and the 360 have good games and some better graphics and some right games r coming out in 08 and right very soon
