Does the Wii Cost Money for interenet and things?

I don't know if this will work but I have an internet cable that goes to my laptop. Can I plug that into the Wii? And another thing, to get the weather and stuff, will that cost money and if it does will it be monthly or just a one time payment?

Answers:
Ok, you could not hook your Internet cable that you use for your Laptop or PC directly into your Wii. The Wii has built in WiFi, but does not have a built in Ethernet port. You can however purchase an Ethernet adapter for the Wii for I think about $20.00 that will allow you to connect to the internet via standard wired connectivity. If you have a wireless router in your home already though that would be the way to go. Lastly none of the online services ( weather, news, opinion ) cost you anything. Purchasing games off the webstore does cost Wii points wich equal about $0.01 per point.
once u have it hooked up there r no monthly payments

the only thing u have to pay for is the points to buy retro games
That will depends on how your internet connection is handled. If you have to fire up a dialer of some sort on your laptop in order to be connected, then you probably won't be able to do that on your Wii.

If you only need to plug the cable and you can automatically browse the internet then you'll probably be able to do that on your Wii, after configuring its TCP/IP settings. Check your user's manual on how to configure correctly your Wii.

Since you already pay for your broadband connection then it won't cost you anything to browse the internet with your Wii.
the only thing that you will have to pay for is the internet channel, after June 30, it was no longer free and you had to pay a one of fee of 500 wii points (2000 wii points is around $30) to get the channel
in order for u to plug in the Ethernet cable into the wii, u will need to purchase a LAN adapter or Nintendo USB Connector that enables the wii to connect to the internet and browse web sites. Although thats not the only way to connect ur wii to the internet, u can connect it via wirelessly as the wii has built in wifi and u can instantly connect to the internet that way. As of the money connecting does not cost u a dime, unless u want to purchase some virtual console games for about 500-1,000 wii points (approximately 20-30 bucks) and u can also play people online across the world if u have online games such as pokemon battle revolution and/or mario strikers charged more online games to come such as: super smash bros. brawl, madden 08, fifa 08, mario kart wii
You do not have to pay to get the News Channel or the Forecast Channel. You just have to be able to connect to the internet.
could anyone give me 500 wii points? i need the internet channel
Sir,you either buy the wifi USB Adapter 40 dollars and u plug that in 2 ur labtop or whatever computer has internet then your wii and DS will work on internet. The browser for the wii cost 5 dollars. But The LAN Adapter takes up a place of one of your modem port and its ten dollars less. But it takes up a port and doesn't work on DS. I'd recomend the Wifi USB Adapter.
