Answers: Game downloads are connected to your console (not harddrive)as well as your gamertag. They can be played on his console but with the sole purpose if he is logged onto Live with your gamertag, he wont know how to play them offline.
This is the problem those of us with refurb consoles (after repair) own had to traffic with, lone being competent to play when on Live and downloads will only work near the profile(gamertag) that downloaded them. In fact it ruined my Oblivion salvage because the expansions were not downloaded beside my profile,and therefore no longer worked. It really hurt :(
OK you can try to nouns your xbox live account onto his xbox (go to recuperate gamertag from xbox live) and go to the bazaar page and download history and download it again to his HDD.

the verbs cable wouldn't work anyways: it wipes the harddrive that it transfers from.
