Flying/shooter notebook games?

Can anyone reccomend any airplane or spaceship "flying/shooter" titles for pc? Newer titles are preferred, but "classics" are okay too, if they're remarkably good...


Answers:    The best WWII flying simulator is the IL-2 series from Ubisoft.
The up-to-the-minute version (1946) includes adjectives previous versions on a DVD.
Extremely authentic, but has customisable settings from 'easy' to 'realistic' so you can bring back flying (and shooting!) from day one.
