Answers:    no you don't have to achieve an elite. it is like peas in a pod console as the core system and the premium system, it is just black and have a 120 GB hard drive and HDMI outputs. if you already enjoy a lower 360 you can still play halo 3 and every other spectator sport that is for the xbox 360. if you haven't bought one but, then bring an elite
