My xbox (not 360) wont play games that say aloud xbox live...what can i do?...also how do i connect to the network?

Answers: It should play then surrounded by offline mode, but to play them on Xbox Live you will need to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable plugged into a broadband modem/router. You will also want an Xbox Live subscription.
