For adjectives you hardcore PC gamers out here which would you choose?
My current system is:
Win XP Pro
4 GB DDR2 PC6400 RAM
ASUS P5B Delux Mobo
3.4 GHz Pentium D CPU
ATI Radeon 2600 HD XT 512 MB video card
(128-bit memory bus, 850 MGhz core clock, 1.2 GHz
memory clock)
I'm thinking of either up grade to a Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz processor or a ATI Radeon 3870 video card. They both cost almost the same. The spanking new video card has the topical PCIe 2.0 bandwith connection and have a 256-bit memory bus (same amount of memory too). Other specs for the card are close to what I already have on the current video card. So what do you surmise? What should I choose that will give me that biggest crash for my buck in lingo of better performance (fps) for PC gaming?
Answers: For gaming you'll carry the best boost from a new video card. I prefer nvidia cards similar to the GeForce 8800GT you have plenty of RAM and the processor upgrade won't really boost your games the passageway a good graphics card will 3.4ghz P4 is fine for gaming.
I ponder that for Game, u should choose nViDIA 8800, the graphic card almost decide the quality of ur gaming carrying out ... as my experience. But if u like ATi, it is OK ... I hold an ATi too, but I feel similar to my card wicker than my friend's nViDIA, conceivably be cause of his delayed card :-p ...
Ur RAM and CPU are both OK for the hardest games now. Actually, Duo 2 Core doesn't boost up ur computer so much in need Vista ... but there is smaller quantity game for Vista presently.
