What's the difference between companion and NTSC?and wich is better?
Answers: The practical difference is that different parts of the world use different standards, and you should set your playstation to use whatever standard your small screen uses (US is NTSC, Europe is PAL, other parts of the world I can't comment on).

Neither is better, they are just a different format, over here surrounded by the UK we use PAL and in the USA they use NTSC, games are not compatable between the two unless your console have a mod chip.
PAL is higher resolution, but a lower revitalize rate. It also has better colour stability.
On the integral I'd say PAL is better than NTSC - which have been referred to as "Never The Same Colour".
