My boyfriend bought a PS3 last darkness and new games and played on it for a while, he after got up surrounded by the middle of the night to play on it and it does'nt read the discs anymore. Remember these games and PS3 are BRAND NEW. It will not even attempt to nouns the game, it will in recent times bring up the setings for Gameplay and audio and stuff like that, Has anybody else have this problem? If so and yu KNOW how to resolve it, please tell me because my BF be driving me nuts last night/this morning complaining it isn't working.
Answers: Before taking it hindmost, go to "system settings" and act a "PS3 restore". This will reset the PS3 to it's original state. You will want to back-up any games first if you have downloaded any.
It sounds resembling you have a start up/run error. I enjoy heard of others next to the same problem and the restore usually fixes it.
Btw, this is not cause by overheating. It is a program glitch.
Send it to the store and they should be able to fix it. If you enjoy a warranty then that should do it.
It might be a problem beside the laser , the one reading the discs.

Looks like your BF be playing it all dark and it overheated, now it won't play discs. You can return it to the store if it still have the warranty.
