How do you connect the xbox 360 hd component cable to a 1080i hd tv?

I did it like the instruction book says but its still not picking up a picture or nouns I got a toshiba 37wlt68

Answers:    You might need to alter the video input on your television..

The Xbox will output full 1080p through component.. some television refuse to adopt 1080p except through HDMI though.. All 1080i televisions will adopt 1080i through component.. you are using 1080i though so it should work for sure..

Also, check on the cable itself next to where on earth it plugs into the xbox.. there is a switch SD/HD.. trade name sure it is set to HD..
you need to buy an hdmi cable. they cost anywhere from 60-100 bucks.
