Does anyone think the over priced PS3 will ever come down in price ?

PS3 came down in price to $499 this week. Sony annouced it. It was an immediate mark down.

the PS3 came out at $599, come on, it's not overpriced, it comes with a blu ray player, a web browser, an Upconvert DVD Player, and a gaming system. it has just been reduced to $499 because an 80Gig version just released at $599
Not by much. Sony is losing money on it as it is because of all the microelectronics inside and the movie player (only plays their movies). If they can sell enough movies, game boxes, and games over the next year and if the game makers start taking advantage of the technology it is possible it will come down. It is tempting to get one, but I want more awesome games like Gears of War before I am willing to commit.
Wait till christmas, bond to come down mind you the 360 is better valur for money and more fun.

but, sony only manufactured a limited quantity of these so once they run out, you are going to have to buy one with a different amount of memory
Goto target right now, for 499 you get the ps3 60gig.
The playstation 3 already came down to $500 for the 60GB model, only $30 more than the xbox 360 elite, and the 360 is unreliable, aka, the tree rings of death. The ps3 is much more reliable. Also, the 360 elite doesn't even have a next generation disc format, the 360 still uses 8.5GB DVD9 while the ps3 utilizes blu ray with 50GB discs, and soon 100GB discs.
Also, the ps3 60GB is still being produced, and Sony is not going to stop making them.
Ok it is officially down $100 and if you compare the ps3 to the 360 it is clearly not overpriced. with better graphics, a blu ray player, built in wifi (thats $100 right there), no need for a play and charge kit, the ps3 is an absolute steal!
Of course its gonna come down all electronic price relative fall after some few months.
it already down 100 bucks and that also includes the blue ray movies (some places) and that a heck of a deal if you think about it 5 movies is worth about 100 plus so your saving 200 dollars on your ps3...go ahead and get it now because from what sony is telling everyone their going to have enough 60 gig for everyone when the european ps3 claiming sony us isn't going to have any 60 after they sell out.which is soon i bet!!

Yes, it has to because they have not sold very many and they expected it to be high in demand, so I think they will drop the price again soon.
