Is it necessary to have a blu-ray remote to watch blu-ray movies on the PS3?

U can just use the controller to watch movies, a blu-ray remote makes it easier for people who are not used to using the sixaxis controller.
Use the Sixaxis. That's what I do. No point in getting extra money on a remote when the Sixaxis acts as a remote.
I know the ps2 could just use the game controller when playing movies. A friend of mine says the ps3 is the same in that regard but alot easier if you have the remote.
No you don't NEED the Blu-ray remote... the Sixaxas is good. but the Blu-ray remote has a lot of options that makes watching DVD easier.
if you have the remote for the ps2, y not just use the adapter and do that?
