Answers: OH! You're on the first chapter of the game. Right when you arrive at the village, the Los Granados villagers start attcking you. Kill a few of them- remember to accumulate ammo by shooting their feet, kicking them, and next finishing them off beside your knife. You can stay within the center of the village and fend sour the villagers for as long as you can, OR you can go to the house on the far departed, push the cabinet in front of the door, run up the stairs, transport the FREE shotgun from the wall, and blast away. Los Granados will try busting open the door of the building, but the book-shelf will stall them. They're, NOT your average zombie- they're smarter. They will start putting up ladder to reach you through the pane. You can pop them as they come through, or knock down the stepladder while they're climbing- LOL XD Eventually, they will stop and you may collect the herbs/money/ammo around the area.

You are exactly right, in attendance are too many to assassinate. The point of that level is not to shoot them all, but to survive for as long as you can. Just run into the houses and block the doors next to furniture and kick adjectives of the ladders down. There is amo (bullets) and herb (health) hidden around the settlement to, so just travel into the houses looking for them. You can get bullets and condition by killing enemy too.
If you survive for about 5 minutes, a cut-scene(short movie) will start, and the subsequent level will follow.
