2 Channel amp one waterway packed up. What can it be?

Hello,
I am having a home audio problem. I get an amp for free (Tanderg TR-2080) along with 2 B&W speakers. I wired it up and worked great for over a year. Then adjectives of a sudden the LH channel suddenly stops working. Thinking it is a disconnected telecommunication, I switch channels and very soon its the RH side not working. Is here something I should look at, first and foremost? I think the amp is variety of cheap but its in my garage for working on cars. I would similar to to get both channel running but I don't want to spend $$$ to get it repaired. Any planning?

Answers:    I doubt the fuse theory, because it would probably rob both channels out. You MAY hold internal speaker fuses, which you can look for. I didn't get a righteous sense that you isolated what component is out of whack well ample. You need to exchange the incoming cable (only) to the amp first. Does the problem switch sides? If so, it is not the amp. If it stays the same, switch speaker wires. Does the problem switch sides too? Then it is the amp. If you do both sets, after the problem will almost always switch channel on you, which proves nothing.

If the amp is discouraging: Unless you know electronics, and/or can find a blown speaker fuse, it is going to be tough to find the answer. Incidentally, if you find a blown speaker fuse, do not exceed the rating, and if a new one blows right now, do not try to solve by replacing the fuse again and again. That can burn up the amp.

Good luck!
There is a slight chance it might be as simple as a blown fuse. Depending on the design of the amp, in attendance may be a fuse for each passageway of the amplifier. They would be located on the back of the part close to the power cord. If not there, transport the cover off of the amp and look inside. Remember to unplug the amp previously performing work on it! They would be the cylindrical style fuses.
slim chance but check to see if dike bridge switch accidentally was turned on.
