How can I receive a proper Xbox 360 HDMI signal beside a Samsung 1080p 40"?

I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Pro. I looked-for the pro because it has the white satchel, and it matches the HTiB from Pioneer made specifically for the Xbox. I also purchased the Microsoft HDMI cable next to audio adapter, as I wanted to enjoy an HDMI signal passed to the TV, and the audio goes to the addressee. The problem I am encountering is that when I plug within the HDMI and the AV adapter into the Xbox and then turn on the TV, it cannot make out that the HDMI cable is in HDMI 1. When I thieve out the AV adapter for the audio and JUST have HDMI, the TV recognize it, and i get a picture and nouns.
So in establish for me to get a picture, the AV adapter cannot be plugged into the system when the HDMI port is person used. In case you be wondering, the reciever for the surround sound cannot even detect that the Xbox is outputting Dolby Digital.
My sound out is should I return and exchange my Xbox 360 as the AV port may be faulty when used next to the HDMI cable? Or is it the TV?

Answers:    It sounds close to the little extension adapter (that breaks out the HDMI and L/R audio) is defective. Return it for another one.

Since the straight HDMI connection between the Xbox and the TV works fine - neither device is the problem.

Also - if that adapter is the one I am thinking of - it will NEVER bestow your receiver Dolby Digital. Since it is feed L/R analog audio - the best you can get is ProLogic.

Does your TV enjoy a digital audio output? If so - feed the beneficiary from the TV, not from the xBox.
