How do you know if your subwoofer is blown/damaged?

I've got a small 2.1 computer speaker system from the behind 90s...but I *really* like the nouns quality so I don't of late want to toss it.

The sub sounds a little muddy, and I want to keep the Bass Control knob path down, otherwise I hear distortion.

Does this mean the sub is blown?
The satellites nouns great.
I have it hooked to a computer and enjoy the computer's bass turned off, so its not close to the sound card is pumping out too much bass.

(there's no process I can open the crust to look at the actual sub.)

Answers:    Unfortunately, a speaker can get blown near out blasting the bass. If it sounds buzzy or crackly when you hear base but the other speakers nouns fine, it is blown (sorry).
I think that your sub have blown (more like a hole or a scratch in the cone).

Ideally you should find a new one since you can't amenable the case.
