Blu beam audio?

I recently purchased fantastic 4 on blu sunbeam region b and shocked to find out that its audio was within dts only not dolby digital. I thought adjectives blu ray dvds be in 5.1 dolby digital. After checking on play.com for the above show its audio is only dts.

So i be not happy when i get no sound through my 5.1 dolby digital surround nouns so ended up selling it presently again on ebay.

Can anyone advise why they do this of some films which enjoy audio in dts simply

thanks

Answers:    Interesting -- the BD spec requires DD support on players (As stated within the article at the link)

"BD-ROM players are required to support Dolby Digital AC-3, DTS, and linear PCM. Players may optionally support Dolby Digital Plus, and lossless formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD."

However, the BDA website FAQ's says:

"this simply vehicle that Blu-ray players and recorders will enjoy to support playback of these audio codecs, it will still be up to the movie studios to decide which audio codec(s) they use for their releases."

So --- I'd engineer your dissatisafaction known to Fox (They may own learnt their lesson since in attendance is DD on F4: RSS .... but also remember in adjectives to check the labelling on disks in adjectives.
This makes no sense

Dolby Digital LOSSY (5.1) and DTS are both mandatory contained by both HD DVD and Blu Ray
See

Where it is getting complex is in supporting Lossless multi-channel.
So, the motion picture should have both Dolby and DTS.
You'll own to try an ANALOG connection to your Home Theater addressee. Most receivers own a "5.1 analog input" which is simply 3 pairs of RCA jacks. Two for the FRONT speakers, two for the REAR, one for CENTER and one for the SUB. Your Blu-ray Disc player can decode the "DTS" (internally) after send it to your addressee (if it has the analog input jacks). Your FIBER OPTIC (or DIGITAL COAX) nouns won't let you thieve advantage of the SOUND Blu-ray have to offer. Try hooking it up close to this: http://www.avtruths.com/uncompressed.htm...

Most U.S. Blu-ray Discs offer an "Uncompressed 5.1" soundtrack surrounded by addtion to any others ("DolbyTrueHD" or "DTSHD Master Audio"). None of these audio formats can be accessed beside the standard digital connection we use on regular DVD players (but the Blu-ray players are smart plenty to "water-down" the new audio formats into signals our current equipment can use). Here's a expeditious list of adjectives the Dolby/DTS audio formats available (up to and including the latest HD versions): http://www.avtruths.com/dolbydts.html

If you don't enjoy the proper connections on your current receiver (5.1 analog input), you won't be capable of get more than 2-channels of "uncompressed" audio out of a Blu-ray Disc. But here are new receiver (starting at $500) which offer the HDMI input and the proper on-board decoders to pedal whatever audio format they're given. But a standard, analog nouns wouldn't cost you anything.
First off, they don't net blu-ray discs anymore.

Second off, Make sure that adjectives of your connections are tight and secure.

Third past its sell-by date, make sure that you're buu-ray discs are 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound.

If you're using a global remote, make sure it's fully functional next to digital sound. If it isn't, try setting the settings to 5.1 near your original remote for your audio reciver.

Make sure you're audio reciver is on and set to DVD, this'll allow you're functions to run properly.

If you hooked-up your reciver through any other mode, such as PHONO, compact disc, BLU-RAY, or TV, make sure that you set the appropriete function by putting the audio reciver on that mode.
Some Fox movies on blu-ray merely have DTS HD Master. I own it in region 1 and while DTS HD Master is the primary audio track there's a spanish Dolby 5.1 track....but I don't know any spanish and I enjoy a dts receiver.....so yeah.....I don`t know it's time to upgrade the receiver eh?
