Answers: Out of the two you have here, I would supply the nod
to the Pioneer system. I don't even think the Sony
system is available anymore anyway.
However, the HTIB (home theater contained by a box) system
isn't usually the best bang for your buck when it
comes to overall manners. For example, a 6 1/2 "
powered subwoofer with simply 100 watts of power is
not going to give you much impact or vast bass. I
recommend, even for small rooms, to get a powered
sub i.e. at least 8" and preferably 10-12" to bestow
you bass at least down to 35Hz (the system that you
are considering simply goes down to 45Hz). If getting
the best nouns quality is substantial to you for your
money, then I would suggest piecing your system
together. Not singular will it give you substantially better
show, but it will also allow you greater flex-
ibility. Here's what I would recommend if you don't
know where to start...
DVD PLAYER: Pioneer DV-400V-K
RECEIVER: Pioneer VSX-517-K
SPEAKERS: Dayton HTS-1200B
POWERED SUB: Dayton SUB-100

Your second choice would be best. That's my belief.
