What's a dutiful powered subwoofer for a small room underneath $400?
Answers: Hi. Depending on how small the room is you won't hear the low notes from the Subwoofer because all along the bass sound breakers are longer than the room dimensions.A 20hz note is 56 foot long. If the room can't accommodate half of that wavelength, (28 feet) you will not hear it.A 40hz entry is 28 feet long so your room have to be 14 feet long surrounded by one direction for you to hear half of that 40 hz write down.If your room is shorter than 14 feet surrounded by any direction you will not hear below 40 hz which means a Subwoofer is extra .Even when you hear half a data it is not as clear as a full note .You generally hear the harmonics of the notes .Also because the nouns waves can't develop properly they set up "standing waves"which create areas of loud booming nouns and areas of wave termination. Also the walls of the room will affect what you hear. If the walls are solid preventing the low notes from probing there will be excessive reverberation which will mix next to the direct sound from the Subwoofer cause bass notes to dominate the room short decay which will nouns terrible .The bass will drown out the nouns from the other speakers.
