Which holds more gigs, blu stream or hd dvd?

just wondering

Answers:    blu sunbeam has more but requests more. 50 g to 30g respectively.

blu ray sucks, Sony sucks, be in motion RCA!!
Blueray
blu ray rocks self give that first guy a thumbs down but im not at smooth two yet!the answer is blu-ray it have either 50 or 60 gigs!!please administer me best answer!
Bluray holds more : 50gb
HD-DVD holds less : 30gb

This is dual covering.
Single layer is - BR: 25gb and HD: 15gb

Bluray have writers already available and HDDVD doesn't.

They both use the exact same encoding codecs.

Blueray has more movie studios.

Blueray:
20th Century Fox
Buena Vista Home Entertainment
Electronic Arts
MGM Studios
Paramount Pictures
Sony Pictures Entertainment
The Walt Disney Company
Vivendi Universal Games
Warner Bros.

HD-DVD:
Buena Vista Home Entertainment
New Line Cinema
Paramount Pictures
The Walt Disney Company
Universal Studios
Warner Bros.
Bluray holds more info but HD is cheaper to clear and buy, considering most movies and games do not use all of the available space on a bluray more and more movie companies are choosing HD over Bluray, if for PS3 Bluray would be dead
I'm going to provide a long answer for the benefit of others as well). Your query is answered in the subsequent paragraph ... but you may wish to read on to bring a fuller perspective.

A dual layer Blu-Ray disk can hold 50 GB and a similar HD DVD 30 GB. BUT the numbers are of more truth-seeking than practical importance.

Both formats are too small for facts backup purposes (Holographic disks will take that role, and contained by the meantime Terabyte backup devices have the edge).

And for movies adjectives current movies under more or less 2.5 hrs and necessary HD audio tracks will fit on any HD DVD or Blu-Ray disks. And in exceptional cases a dual disk copy would be feasible as for some DVDs immediately.

On the other hand, in that are good reason to 1) not buy either format even so (the format war and the inevitability to have both formats to panorama all movies, DVDs are cheaper and when upscaled look pretty appropriate, most consumers don't have equipment that allows the benefits of any HD disk format to be realized, etc) or 2) buy HD DVD.

On the latter:
- HD DVD players are cheaper ($200 vs $3-400 starting price).
- The scientific spec is stable (Blu-Ray's technical spec won't even be final until at most minuscule November and current players will almost all be non-operational (re extras and online content capability at least).
- Studios are turning away from Blu-Ray somewhat because of the high cost and difficulty of programming for Blu-Ray and incompletely because of production difficulties (Blu-Ray disks have a smaller quantity than 40% acceptance rate (i.e. 60+% won't play), while HD DVD own a 95+% acceptance rate) and cost (a Blu-Ray disk cost around $6 to produce vs about $1,50 for an HD DVD). Furthermore in attendance is only one commercial pressing plant for Blu-Ray (Sony!) adjectives others are struggling with roughly 10-20% success rates ... too low for commercial possibility. On the other hand HD DVDs are relatively unforced to produce since they are an extension of normal DVD technology.
- Finally, Blu-ray disks are more fragile because of the emaciated plastic protective layer (relative to HD DVD) over the tracks.

That adjectives said, to date HD disk sales own only purely passed VHS tape sale ... it is still a niche market and the average joe take a risk buying either format.

My personal experience (I enjoy an HD-A2 HD DVD player and project a 110" image via a 720p HT projector) is that HD DVDs are a bit sharper and the Dolby HD nouns is better than DD ... but normal DVDs look pretty darn accurate. I have no intention of buying heaps HD DVDs (and rental is not a viable option for me) until I can find them used (as I did beside most of my 400+ DVDs) at a reasonable price $10-15 max ... and that will be a while.
