HELP my Directv HD Satelite isn't working?

I trouble shooted with Directv. They couldn't relieve. All my T.V. says is no satelite signal. nil else. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The problem seem to stem from outside. How do I check the wires to the satelite? I followed the cable around the house and didn't see anything disconnected.


Answers:    The concept of the dish moving is valid however you can check that by going into the menu. Select set up > point dish.This will display a signal level meter. With the help out of a second pair of hand, you can (slightly) move the dish and see if the signal gets better. There is also a switch mounted outside the house. The switch select different satellites and is my prime suspect for failure. Unfortunately, if the switch have failed, nearby will be no signal. You will need an on site service give the name to troubleshoot and repair.
Most likely problem is that the dish moved. If at hand has be a recent storm, that could do it. It doesn't take much to lose the signal completely. The symptom is no signal on any transponder or cable. You may own to call an installer to re-point the dish.
