You CAN connect your dvd player to your laptop (though i'm guessing most people here are gonna say-so you can't) but it depends on what you want to do THEN...you can't use your laptop as a screen for your dvd player, for example, in need an added 'hardware-solution'.

depends on WHY you want to do this, and i'm guessing there are probably easier ways to do doesn`t matter what it is that you want to do, but post more details if this was more than a blue-sky wondering.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS - mmmhmhm, not as far as i take in it but u CAN play HD files on your laptop (if you can find an HD enabled reader that'll fit into a laptop let me know, huh?)...but your device won't read the discs. guess that'll be changing over the subsequent few months...still - you can download HD files according to the guys on the following link -
