Dvd player won't play contained by color when hooked up to foreign lcd monitor. Do I involve special cable?

Answers:    Sounds like you merely have a crossed rope. Check your connections.
Not enough info. But I see constant confusion over Component and RGB. While similar, they are NOT one and the same.

Although the connectors are colored the same (Red, Green, & Blue), it handle them differently. So in plentiful cases, the Red and Blue inputs are ignored while just the Green input goes through. Without the other colors within the CORRECT format, the monitor only see one color (Black/White).

Check the labeling of the connectors. RGB is not the same as R-Y, Y, B-Y.
