If the home theater systems dvd resolution is 1080i...can you use it on a regular tv? how bout on a projector?

im trying to buy a hometheater system now i enjoy an idea on what to look for but if i obtain one (A home theater system) with an upconversion of 1080i can i hook it up to my regular tv or my projector... not sure how that works?

Answers:    yes - it of late will display in standard def and not HD. The picture will look similar to a normal tv picture.
Generally newer mid-level, high-level Surround Sound A/V Receivers will hold out upconversion, but unfortunately it is one and only on the HDMI output. So to take pre-eminence of that, you would need a TV that supports 1080i. However, if you are solely planning on hooking it up to a regular TV or projector, you want to try to find a receiver that will output within the highest aspect signal that your TV or projector supports (like S-Video or hopefully Component). For simplicity of wiring, you will also want it to output to one standard (like component) regardless of signal input type (composite, s-video, components, etc.) Otherwise, plan on hooking up multiple cable to your TV and fumbling with multiple remotes!
