Is Best Buy electronics stores going down hummock?
Answers: I know your just complaining... But you own a good drive to. Best Buy is in trouble... They are closing stores and sizing down staff. The first to stir are the employees that build higher wages (You know... The ones how know what they were chitchat about). It's to bad really. It's a great place to run surrounded by on Sat. and pickup something I can't wait till Monday to take from my suppliers. You made a good dissension to step to Ken Cranes. You might pay more but the customer service is worth it.
I'm glad I'm not the merely one who sees the rot that goes on at Best Buy.
As soon as you tramp in the door, you see the children that work near in groups socializing next to each other.
When you ask for abet, (some) of them act similar to you've interrupted one of the most important meeting of their lifetime. (Not all deed like that unsurprisingly. Some are very encouraging.)
Also, I have asked question I already know the answer, just to hear the lies and blarney that spews out of their mouth so they (think) they can make a mart.
I brought back a DVD that skipped on adjectives my players, even my computer. The customer service (a kid) said there be no more in stock and that I would own to go to the entrepreneur to get another copy or my money rear legs.
Wow! Did I ever go bad!
They then allowed me to pick another DVD of equal appeal for an exchange.
(I never did ask for my money back. I be more than willing to exchange it for another movie.)
I bought some Star Trek movie DVDs for $10 apiece. I be at Wal Mart that week and found the same movies for $7.50.
Big Box stores approaching Best Buy and Circuit City have be the worst thing for home theater and consumer electronics within general. The products they flog are sub par quality and the after Dutch auction service is a joke. It used to be years ago that you purchased electronics that would later a long time and that could be repaired for a nominal cost. But the predication of foreign manufactures surrounded by the market place near a better price point yet inferior ability has be slowly allowed to be considered the norm.
Be a true fickle consumer and don't buy what they are selling. Look for service and products at quality local dealer with established reputations. The upright ones stand out. Never settle for the inferior service these big box stores offer.
As a former Best Buy Manager the push be always to belittle the completion next to the comment that "our associates are not commissioned", an arrangement where a conversant sales personality was rewarded for their relief and after sale service. Best Buy sale persons (blue shirts) are regard as dummies, so a few years ago Best Buy had to re-invent the disguise that their people know what they were doing (geek squad) but where on earth did the geek squad people come from? Best Buy personnel start at minimum wage and it is corporate policy that not a soul Senior (that is a pay grade) and lower than exceeds 1.5 of that wage EVER. I have to wonder basically how good a controlled person can be that make $10 an hour? Plus things like over selling cable and making attachments to a sale are REQUIRED. On average an individual department must attach 10-30% (depends on the department) surrounded by accessories, cable, furniture EVERY DAY. This arbitrary number is part of the GM and SMs compensation and why it is hammer down you the consumers throat!
And remember a commissioned sales personality is not necessarily a bad point, but look for a referral to a commissioned sales human being. The good ones will stand out, the ones that are only out to make as much as they can will not survive long contained by consumer electronics, referrals are 50% of their business, and these flim flams don't know a bleak referral
is a killer.
So if Best Buy requests to stay in business they will requirement to start offering better service and by their actions not "tell" you to progress somewhere else. I will not set foot in one and will not until the current officer are removed or terminated.

I concur with Han and THX above. Brick and Mortar are definitly on the track out. Online specialty shops with nought overhead are killing these stores. I use Best Buy, naymore, as a place to stir and "play" with what I want to buy and afterwards go acquire it online.
The stores have to cover expenses resembling electricity, rent, and employees (even though most are underpaid lofty school and college kids near little knowledge of their product). Online stores resembling NewEgg and Buy.com don't have these costs and their pricing reflect that.
Look at home theater cables, for example. I in truth had some blue shirt share me that the $110 HDMI cable would give me a better picture consequently the $25 one I got from an online cable specialty shop. I have to explain how a digital signal works and that Monster Cable was the biggest marketing rip bad in this century.
These stores are a dying breed.
