Are HDTV's singular dutiful for watching HD Content?
What to do?
Answers: You can lessen this effect by taking some of the brightness and contrast out of your TV...Also, if you look in your TV's booklet, you might find some menu options that drain the "grainy-ness" you see on standard-def...Sometimes it's called "boom reduction".
Also, different models of HDTVs have different amounts of picture trait loss than others...Some look absolutely dreadful with standard def...While others spawn DVDs and regular TV brodcast look almost Hi-Def.
When choosing an HDTV people should other ask to see a regular broadcast displayed on the TVs instead of just HD content...This is a saleperson trick that sell TVs...You can't trust anyone these days.
original tv is going to look bad no situation what. You can improve your regular dvds by putting component video (red, green, blue) on your dvd within place of the traditional composite (yellow). When you do this you will need to jump into the setup menu of your dvd player and turn "progressive scan" ON. Also make sure your dvd player is set for widescreen. But, as far as tv...of late play the waiting game...everything will be digital eventually.
The primary problem that you are have is that when you take a common tv signal (ntsc) and spread it out over a large hdtv eyeshade it is going to look grainy, same point applies to standard dvd's. There is a solution for your dvd's however, get an upconverting dvd player, preferably one next to a hdmi connection and the part will improve immense. I enjoy a Sony that most of my standard DVD's look geat on, not as good as HD but immensly better than common resolution. I also recently added an over the upper air HD anntena to my sattelite and now win wonderful broadcast TV in HD surrounded by addition to adjectives of my HD channels on Dish Network. Hope this help.
I have a Samsung HDTV and for the most cog the Standard Def channels look fine.
THE REASON WHY THAT IS BECAUSE THE TV IS JUST SO HIGH TECH THAT IT ONLY READS HD CHANNELS. SO EVERYTHING WILL APPEAR BLURRY. I BELIEVE THE ONLY REASON WHY YOU SHOULD OWN A HD TV IS IF YOURE GOING TO PURCHASE ALL OF THE HD CHANNELS. WHICH THE ONLY COMPANY TO HAVE THE MOST CHANNELS IS DIRECTV. AND I KNOW BECAUSE I WORK FOR THE COMPANY THAT INSTALLS THE CABLE. SO ITS IN YOUR BEST BET TO GET CABLE WITH DIRECTV INORDER TO ENJOY YOUR TV. ALSO IT WILL REALLY DEPEND ON IF YOU HAVE A PLASMA OR PROJECTION SCREEN OR LCD. MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!
resourcefully there are up-converting DVD players that greatly promote DVDs on a HDTV but upconverting the 480p to 1080.
Toshiba makes a really well brought-up one.
