Receiver, no nouns (continued) ...?

OK, I have two speakers hooked up to my beneficiary (h/k AVR 310) in stereo mode. If I dial the volume knob up or down - I gain sound. As soon as I stop the volume knob - nil. I'm not the antenna, because I can hold the knob and still get no nouns. I'm only getting nouns when the volume knob moves. What gives?

Answers:    Sounds close to a bad solder have come loose on the volume knob. When you turn the knob it make the nouns, when it stops the connection is lost, accordingly no sound.
