Will an optical cable running from my Blu-ray player to beneficiary bring in much of a difference when playing cd's?
Answers: It depends. Using the fiber just make your dvd player send the audio to your addressee to be processed. If you used like a rca cable to your reciver the dvd player does the proccesing. If your beneficiary does hdmi audio and you hook it up that way that would probably be the best nouns. But many receiver don't do that. But yes you receiver most promising will be better at processing sound than the dvd player or a cd player but it concerned of depends. Buy a decent priced fiber cable (or digital coax if your dvd player have a plug for it) and try it.
BTW fiber is not always better than digital coax. It depends on the cable and how far you are going beside it)
I don't really think it will give a hand, optical is only needed for digital surround nouns and is only a superior picking to coax.
