Please, backing configrue my entertainment system?
To connect everything together, I enjoy:
- 4-way Distribution applifier
(1 input port, 4 ouput ports)
- 4-way audio/video selector
(4 input ports, 1 output port)
I want to be able to text from my TV, so I assume I have to run my COAX into my VCR. Am I right? Please share me hwo I should configure my entertainment system ... inputs go where on earth? outputs go where on earth?
Thanks
Answers: What I would do is this:
Get a coax-splitter so you can plug the coax cable (for your cable TV) into both your VCR and TV. This way you can keep under surveillance TV while the VCR records a separate passageway.
The rest of the setup depends on a lot of missing information:
* Is your TV a HDTV?
* How copious inputs does your TV have?
* What sort of inputs does your TV own? (component? s-video? composite?)
* What kind and how various inputs does the surround system have?
* Can it switch video and audio, or of late audio?
The easiest thing to do would be to connect the VCR, DVD player, xbox, and 360 to the AV selector. Connect the selector to your TV.
For the DVD player, run a digital coax cable to the surround nouns system (this is audio-only.) This will give you the flexibility of any using your TV speakers or your surround system while watching movies.
If you want surround sound for the xbox or 360, you'll obligation to get an optical audio cable for them. These too are connected to your surround system, and similar to the DVD player will give you the choice of using the surround system or your TV for audio.
Note that this may not be the most optimal configuration. If your A/V switch solely supports composite video (yellow/red/white cable set) you may not be getting the best possible picture from your TV - but without more information, it's knotty to answer because there are frequent possible combinations.
